This Christmas, UPRISE TV will air a special episode to raise awareness of the issue of homelessness. For the first time on OH TV, members of the UPRISE MOVEMENT including Faith Child, Mercedes, Victizzle, Deborah, Happi and a special guest took part in an all night sleep out on the streets of London! For 12 hours, the team experienced the life and struggles of being homeless and reached out to those facing hardship on the streets.
"It was a life changing experience, I was ignored by people that would take to me on a regular day. I learnt we may not be selfish, but we're not entirely selfless. A homeless man heard 3 of us asking for money to get something to eat and he offered us his £2. We refused. He was so selfless. That touched me." - UPRISE Ambassador Faith Child.
The episode, which is due to air on Christmas Day, will also feature the outreach efforts of other organisations such as Jesus Loves Me, Centrepoint, The Big Issue Foundation and the work of students at Enfield Grammar School. Watch as Uprise presenters Faith Child and Mercedes speak to The Big Issue Foundation CEO Stephen Robertson about the initiatives they have in place to help people in difficult situations.
Do not miss out on the Uprise Sleep Out Special (Uprise Music Show) on Wednesday 25th December at 15:00 GMT, only on OH TV SKY Channel 199.
Support the UPRISE MOVEMENT as they reach out to the homeless this Christmas! They aim to raise funds for Centrepoint, the UK's leading charity for homeless young people.
To donate, visit the JustGiving page: www.justgiving.com/uprise and give whatever you can to support the campaign.
It can be as small as sacrificing lunch money or your morning trip to the coffee shop! OH TV Directors are also giving up one week's wages towards the cause!
